Today I Learned
Ghost in the Machine
Jan 28, 2026
Given my latest fascination (see my latest blog posts), it seems very apropos that Sundance is screening a documentary called Ghost in the Machine. Here's a bit from the synopsis:
Ghost in the Machine approaches ubiquitous questions like “What is AI?”, “Who is building it?”, and “What will humans become?” by exploring how emerging technologies have historically reshaped identity, culture, and global power, while also exposing the current fronts of human exploitation without which AI would not function.
Looks like it's right up my alley.
I also learned that if you're in the US, you can pay $35 to watch it online (starting Jan 29).
Apparently some negative reviews are starting to roll in, with arguments already mirroring the same narrative dynamics that the film explores.
I may have to check it out this weekend.
