Hi there! My name is Mario. This is my blog.
Sometimes there's just not enough time during the day to do the things you want to do. In my case, that involves learning and writing some Python code.
A couple of years ago, I started learning Python. Outside of a few ill-fated programming classes during my college years (some 20+ years ago), I knew very little about programming/development. But the language felt welcoming and accessible, so I dove right in.
This blog started as an attempt to chronicle the things I was learning, while at the same time, providing a platform for me to learn on the go (a Pythonic Ouroboros, if you will).
What you're seeing now is a second iteration of this blog. It is still built with FastAPI and MongoDB under the hood, but I've streamlined much of the code and made it a much more pleasant experience back there. I've also introduced TailwindCSS into my design, which hopefully also provides a more pleasant experience for you as well!
Since, diving into Python, I've been invited to speak at a few conferences, including PyCon US and DjangoCon US, and more recently the Python Web Conference.
If you'd like to reach out, you can find me on Mastodon or maybe at a Python conference in the future!
